This recipe takes into mind some great beneficial herbs and vegetables that will help you get over that cold or help your gut with all the l-glutamine that red cabbage has to offer.

Asian Ginger Slaw

  • 2 cups of shredded red cabbage
  • 3-4 carrots shredded
  • 1/2 sweet onion chopped
  • 1 red pepper chopped
  • 1-2 cups or organic edamame beans
  • 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1-2 tbsp of coconut nectar
  • 1 tbsp of sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 clove of minced garlic
  • 1 juice of lime
  • 1-2 tbsp of pure maple syrup
  • sesame seeds for topping

Spicy Almond Chicken

  • 2 organic chicken breasts sliced into strips
  • 2 tbsp of raw almond butter
  • 1 tbsp of chiles
  • 5 tbsp of almond butter
  • 1/4 cup of coconut nectar
  • 1/2 juice of lemon
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp of pure maple syrup


Spicy Almond Chicken

  1. In a skillet, add coconut oil and turn up heat to medium
  2. Place chicken strips in skillet
  3. Whisk other ingredients in small bowl and when thoroughly combined, add to skillet
  4. Cook until chicken is done; around 7-10 minutes

Asian Ginger Slaw

  1. Place cabbage, onion, carrot, edamame and peppers into a bowl
  2. Whisk together wet ingredients
  3. Add sauce to vegetables and toss until all are coated

Spicy Almond Chicken with Asian Ginger Slaw

  1. Place slaw on plate with chicken on top
  2. Sprinkle with sesame seeds
  3. Serve!
